Some of you may recall the POW/MIA bracelets issued in the 1970s. I wore mine for years!and prayed for my "guy" daily. I never knew if he was POW
or MIA. Then I did finally take the bracelet off but continued the prayers. Then years went by and though for some time I tried to seek his 'status'
I never found it.
I've kept the bracelet in my jewelery box all this time. I often picked it up and would wonder what happened to him.. > did he make it out OK? if he had been killed did his family ever get him 'home"... etc.
With Veteran's day approaching and seeing once again the bracelet, I decided to once again seek his status...
I THINK I FOUND HIM!!!!!!!
He went missing 6/13/1972 was captured and a POW for 9 and 1/2 months. Then he was RELEASED!!!!!!!! yeah!!!!
I think he may be living in Florida... ( have some more investigating to do...)
But pretty sure this is him!!! His day of going Missing in this 'bio' I found matches the date on my bracelet! .. and the name and rank! He was a pilot.
I'd love to contact him and let him know I was the one who wore his bracelet and that I'm so thrilled to finally find he was found and released... and to thank him for his service to our country!
