Before he came i was told he needed it every 6 months... I wasn't happy about that and he was due just shortly after his arrival here, and yes his teeth were pretty bad! I did wait to let him get settled in... then wanted full blood panel and thyroid first so it was beginning of March I believe when he had it done. Vet said she felt the teeth hadn't been polished as smoothly as they should have been and that could cause quick plaque build up. I think I understood that even enamel was a bit 'rough' ( thus the suspicion of not polishing well I guess)
After his nice clean teeth I was very diligent about using the petzlife daily but , bad me, did get lax. At least we got to over a year and had I been better we likely could have held off even longer.....lesson learned!! This time it's the back molars that are the problems , unlike last time when most of them were affected.
Thankfully Naddie's teeth are still pretty good... she'd never had a dental. Not since her almost 4 years here and could see no record of any in her file from before. . There's a tiny bit of stain but vet said not an issue at this time. If I get diligent with the petzlife with her as well.. that might even improve that. Goes to show how this can be different from pooch to pooch.
Anyway asking to send good thoughts and prayers for little Quincy.. I hate that he has been put under so many times already in his young life.. and besides I'll be in a twit ..."just because" LOL
