I actually have a diabetic dog and frequent that board, but just found out about a diabetic cat that my daughter's friend is in charge of.

She runs a no kill cat shelter here. It is wonderful. and I totally support it. However, she was telling me about a cat they have there and he is diabetic.
He is followed by a vet but she told me they use Vetsulin. I thought cats used a different insulin. I know I use Novalin for my dog.. They also use the

I have been keeping my daughter's cat. This cat is a long haired calico manx. She seems perfectly healthy except she seems to drink a lot, she eats a lot, and she urinates in weird places but also in her litter box. She eats ZD cat food but she does not gain weight. She is about 2.5 years and weighs maybe 4 lbs (my laptop weighs more than she does) She does not act lethargic. My cat had a check-up this week (new vet), with urine and blood testing, and the vet said that she has diabetes and has to start insulin right away.
